Tidemand ready for Euro RX season premiere
Pontus Tidemand is ready to take on the Höljes RX track again as the Euro RX premiers this weekend. This is his second event for Hedströms Motorsport and he is hoping to get a flying start to the championship.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m definitely looking for a good result” said Pontus. “The podium would be amazing and that is always what you aim for.”
His debut with Hedströms Motorsport’s VW Polo Supercar was during the All-Star Magic Weekend in July, also in Höljes. Despite not being a completely trouble free event, it gave the team a lot in terms of making improvement for the start of the Euro RX series.
“The team is very professional and they have been working hard since last time, we have done a lot of analyzing and done everything we can to make the car as good as possible. We have the first event behind us, that was sort of a rehearsal for this weekend, and hopefully we will have a bit more luck this time. To get revenge doesn’t sound too bad” said Pontus.
On Thursday, Pontus will get a small test and he hopes that it will be a decent warm-up.
“Just to get your pulse going and to feel the car before heading to Höljes will be great. You always feel the excitement coming when you jump in behind the wheel and I’m planning on keeping that vibe until Sunday. I’m ready to do my best with what I have and even though this will obviously be an event without spectators, I’m hoping that we all can offer enough action to go right through the screens” said Pontus.
Pontus is up against 20 other drivers in the Supercar Euro category, among them Hedströms Motorsport’s own team manager Peter Hedström.
World RX of Sweden takes place on Saturday and Sunday and will be streamed live on FIA World RX Championship’s Facebook and Youtube channel.
