Tidemand kicks off season 2022 with North Rally Boden

After last year’s two guest appearances in the Swedish Rally Championship, Pontus Tidemand is eager for more. When this year’s championship starts with North Rally Boden, the Swede will be on the start line – ready to pick up the battle where he left off last year.

“It’s fantastic that the level is this high in the Swedish Championship with excellent competition and well organized events. I had a blast at the two rallies I did last season, but I also realize that to stand a fair chance in the championship, I need to be in the game from start. So that’s exactly what we’re doing now” said Pontus, who is behind the wheel of a Skoda Fabia Evo and once again is joined by the experienced Norwegian co-driver Morten Erik Abrahamsen.

The Swedish Rally Championship 2022 consists of five events and the first one takes place on 7-8th January in the winter wonderland of northern Sweden. North Rally Boden offers eight special stages that measures about 123 kilometer over the two competitive days.

“I’m really looking forward to a proper winter rally and to get to drive on snow again since my last time competing on snow was Rally Sweden 2020. I’ve also never done a rally that far up north in Sweden, but I’ve heard that the roads are great so I think we’re in for a treat. I’m expecting super tough competition but that only makes it more exciting, and I’m hoping for a real fight in Boden” said Pontus.
