As the world is slowly opening up again after the global lockdown, it is Sweden’s rallycross center of Höljes that hosts the first big rallycross event of the year. Höljes ‘All-Star’ Magic Weekend takes place the same weekend as World RX usually does and with more than 90 competitors in five different classes (Legends, Supercar, Supercar Lites, CrossCar/Crosskart and Crosskart Junior), the action will be as fierce as always.

Pontus participates in the Supercar class and runs for Hedström Motorsport in a VW Polo Supercar, a car that he is starting to get comfortable with after some testing on dry surface.

“This is a fantastic car, the coolest RX car I’ve driven” said Pontus and gave cred to his new rallycross team:

“Hedströms Motorsport is really excited to finally start the season and the atmosphere in the team is really great with just a few days until start. We are well prepared and everyone involved gives their all to make sure we have the best possible chance to do good this weekend. The Höljes track is one of my favourites and I feel like I’ve got a great pace. I’m ready for max attack and it will be so much fun to drive competitively again!”

The competition will be tough as Pontus is up against drivers like double RX world champion Johan Kristoffersson, former RallyX Nordic champions Olivers Solberg and Thomas Bryntesson and RX2 winner Oliver Eriksson.

“It will definitely be intense with that many skilled drivers. But that is also what makes it interesting, you want tough competition both for yourself and for the fans to keep the excitement and the motivation on top. I think and hope for a thrilling fight from the first to the last heat” said Pontus.

With the current COVID-19 restrictions, this will be an event without spectators, but instead the fans are offered a pay-per-view format through a global livestream. The goal is to provide even more action, highlights and behind the scenes sneak peeks than ever before. The livestream is hosted by familiar faces such as Andrew Coley, Hal Ridge, Neil Cole and Molly Pettit.

Höljes ’All-Star’ Magic Weekend 2020 takes place 2-5 Juli.
