Positive experience in the World RX debute for Tidemand

EKS RX has done their first appearance in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. In the Norwegain event, Pontus Tidemand finished in 14th place and even if he didn’t make it to the finals, the weekend was a positive experience. This is just the beginning of the World RX adventure.

“This is a result to be happy with” says Pontus. “It was the first race and the first time on a track with the car so we couldn’t have greater expectations than this. The debut is done, the cars ran well and the only way from here is up.”

Nearly 40 cars participated in the Supercar Class in World Rallycross of Norway and the competition was tough, just as expected. Pontus scored both a race win and a second place in his two first races in heat one and two, but a jump start in the third heat forced him to take the joker lap twice and therefore lost time. Despite a great effort in the fourth and last heat, it wasn’t enough to make it to the finals, but Pontus now has proof of the capacity in the new team and has already got his eyes on the next event:

“There’s more to work on, just like it should be after the first race with a new car so that’s a positive thing” says Pontus. “Both the car and the team have great potential and the work they did to get us here was really impressive. With the right material and the right determination, anything is possible, so I’m absolutely looking forward to the rest of the season. Finland’s World RX is only two weeks away and that it will be all about revenge!”
