More chances for Tidemand – competes at Wales Rally GB

With only a week left until the start of Rally Turkey, Pontus Tidemand knows that another chance with M-Sport in their Ford Fiesta WRC awaits him. In October he participates at Wales Rally GB and that is a rally that he likes and where he has had great results previously with three podiums out of three possible in the WRC 2 class.

Pontus is currently making the last preparations for his next big WRC challenge in Turkey next week and after that it won’t be long until he’s back in the WRC circus again. Already following month, he will be on the start line of Wales Rally GB.

“It’s such a positive boost to know that I have another rally waiting, especially this close after Turkey” said Pontus. “It’s important to have a bigger plan and I really want to show progress and that I belong here in the WRC. Wales Rally GB is an event that suits me pretty well and I’ve got good memories from previous years. I’ve competed three times in the WRC 2 and taken one victory and two second places. It will be a different thing with the WRC car but I’m excited to see what I can do. I’m very grateful towards M-Sport, RaceNetWork and my local partners that believe in me, supports me and help me forward. Now it’s nothing but full speed towards the future!”

The Brittish team is also excited to have more time with Pontus to follow his intense journey over the upcoming weeks.

“It’s great that Pontus will have another event with the Ford Fiesta WRC and another opportunity to show what he can do at the sport’s highest level. He’s one of the next generation and I think all of the manufacturers will be keen to see how he progresses over these next two events. We know how competitive he was in WRC 2 – especially in Wales – and I’m looking forward to monitoring his progress over these next few weeks” said Team Principal Richard Millener.
